How eAssist Changed My Life – Jennifer Farias

jennifer-fFrom the moment I began working in the dental field, I absolutely loved it!  I was an office manager of a busy multi-specialty office for over several years. I have always been a very hard and dedicated worker. I worked many long hours to ensure the office was running smoothly. There was even a time that I worked by myself, working over 50 hours a week when we were short staffed.  Through all of this I was also dealing with a major medical problem, which I have dealt with most of my life. I have kidney failure and I had previously had a kidney transplant when I was young, but the kidney eventually failed. So I was on a dialysis machine every night for 8 hours while I was working full time. My life literally consisted of work and sleep – Nothing else.  I thankfully received another kidney transplant in 2013 and then my husband had to undergo major surgery for his Crohn’s disease. He ended up having complications, was hospitalized for an extended period of time, and my office was giving me a hard time about taking so much time off. I felt betrayed that I had worked so hard for them and in my time of need, they were not accommodating. So, completely out of character, I left my job.

I then began searching for a new job, and that is when I found eAssist. I absolutely did not believe this was possible – being able to work at home, using the skills & experience I have been working with for years.  I always saw these work from home ads and thought they were all a scam, or there was some sort of catch.  I also started working in another office at the same time I started with eAssist, which I eventually left when I decided to come onto eAssist full-time. eAssist has been a dream come true and that was the best decision I have ever made.

eAssist has dramatically changed my life. I am now able to set my own schedule. If there are appointments I need to attend, I do not have to worry about altering my work schedule.  This past summer, I had a rejection episode of my transplanted kidney. I was hospitalized and then had to go back for outpatient treatment at the hospital. Being able to work while in the hospital and undergoing treatment not only allowed me to continue to earn money while battling this medical issue, but also kept my mind off of my medical situation. I am thankfully doing much better now. My husband & I also finally had the opportunity to adopt a Siberian Husky puppy this past spring to add to our pet family with our 3 cats.  I have always wanted a puppy but was never home enough to give a puppy the needed time & attention it would deserve. Now I am able to be at home with my pets while I work. I would not be able to do all of this without the flexibility  of my amazing job. All of the fellow eAssisters have been so amazingly helpful and I could never see myself doing anything else. I am still able to work in the field I love and for that, I am extremely grateful to Dr. Anderson and the incredible eAssist family.
