False Billing Dentist, Say What?

My first office was a Medicaid practice. We had a 16 year old pt who needed full mouth extraction and dentures. It was sad. Medicaid denied all his extractions due to “frequency”. I came to find out that his last dentist billed out the full mouth extractions without providing the service. It took MONTHS to get his extractions paid! I called his previous dentist, gave them all the info, and asked them to refund Medicaid for the services they did not provide. I must have called that office 20 times! Finally they sent the refund and we were able to get the pt’s claim paid! I will never forget that!
